ELIXIR, the European research infrastructure for life science data, has published a paper in the European Journal of Human Genetics (EJHG) where it highlights the infrastructure's response against COVID-19.

ELIXIR’s distributed strategy aims to answer to the COVID-19 directed actions across its 23 nodes by empowering researchers’ efforts under three strands: (i) Connecting national COVID-19 data platforms to create federated European COVID-19 Data Spaces; (ii) Fostering good data management to make COVID-19 data open, FAIR and reusable over the long term; and (iii) Providing open tools, workflows and computational resources to drive reproducible and collaborative science.

BioData.pt, as the Portuguese node of ELIXIR, fully endorses these efforts against the pandemic by contributing mostly with data management expertise and computational power.
