BioData.pt | ELIXIR PT continues to follow the 2020 ELIXIR All Hands Meeting.
The second day started with two innovative and impressive mini-symposia: "Plant Sciences" and "Federated Human Data". After some very interesting presentations, 5 tasks were proposed for the Plants Community roadmap: (1) Data standards; (2) Data collection; (3) Data finding; (4) Data integration; and (5) Data storage. Similarly and regarding the Federated Human Data Community, it was suggested that synthetic data should be available at every node and that each one involved should start testing and implementing Global Alliance for Genomics and Health (GA4GH) standards. Furthermore, although being considered that federation is the key for success, there is still need for custom solutions under this matter.
Daniel Faria (INESC-ID), on behalf of BioData.pt | ELIXIR PT, presented a Data Management Toolkit for the Plant Sciences Community associated with the ELIXIR-CONVERGE Plant Pilot Study in the "Plant Sciences" mini-symposium.
The mini-symposia were followed by the announcement of the Australian BioCommons - ELIXIR Collaboration Strategy and demonstrators of some ELIXIR resources and tools being held by the national nodes.
Eagerly waiting for the third day of the 2020 ELIXIR All Hands!
