The second edition of the course was held on July 10th for the Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), to an audience of 18 participants (4 of which only attended the theoretical lectures), which were mostly PhD students.

The course was again very successful from a technical standpoint, with one participant even managing to attend the course via mobile phone. Feedback from the participants was even more positive, as a result of the “Ready for BioData Management?” team’s effort to address the aspects that had been seamless in the previous edition (namely the explanations on the several exercise steps and the time given to complete them). There were relevant debates about how data management is crucial for every researcher, as well a more philosophical discussion on making data available for commercial usage.

The following testimonial was left anonymously by one participant:

“The practical exercise is key to apply and understand how to handle the concepts presented in the theoretical sessions! The workshop was very well articulated - organisation on point!”

We would like to thank the participants for their interest, and above all, Dr. Vicente Sousa for serving as the contact point at the UTAD and advertising the event.
