The Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência is welcoming applications for a Research Fellowship within the project 22231 with the title “Biodata.pt”. The fellowship will have a duration of 12 months, expected to start in June 2018, with the possibility of extension up until the end of the project. The selected candidate will work in the Bioinformatics Unit of the IGC (http://bioinformatics.igc.gulbenkian.pt).

The candidate will work on the development of the web service that will allow the visualization and research of Cork Oak Tree genomic data. The candidate should hold a Masters in Bioinformatics, Biological Engineering, or related disciplines. Candidates with knowledge/experience in web programing (python, django, php), data bases (Postgres, MySOL) and Linux systems administration will be preferred. Candidates with little experience will also be considered, as long as they demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in learning these technologies. Drupal platform experience will be beneficial. Experience developing genomics data bases will be valued. Good spoken and writen english skills are mandatory.
