This week was dedicated to the agritech industry in a workshop that reunited an international and very enthusiastic panel of speakers. We want to thank all participants and the panel of speakers and chairs for these very informative days!

The ELIXIR Plant Sciences Community recently published in the New Phytologist journal an article detailing the MIAPPE (Minimum Information About a Plant Phenotyping Experiment) 1.1 update.

Because we know that starting to use a new resource is not always as straightforward as we would like, we are making available a series of tutorials to help our users easily navigate the CorkOakDB portal (http://corkoakdb.org/).

To familiarize our users with BioData.pt, its Plant Community and the CorkOakDB portal (http://corkoakdb.org/), we conducted a series of interviews to some of our key players.

The CorkOakDB (http://corkoakdb.org/) emerges as a joint effort to create a global repository of genomic data for cork oak. This species has a significant relevance in the Mediterranean at both economic and ecological level due to the sustainable production of cork.

Daniel Faria was invited to present the activities of the ELIXIR Plant Sciences Community and contribute to the discussion on data integration at the COST INTEGRAPE Workshop, which took place in the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa, Lisbon, Portugal, in January 22-23, 2020.

Hosted by BioData.pt's Plant Sciences Community on the afternoon of November 12th, 2019, the Plant Phenotyping-Genotyping Data Management Workshop started with a keynote address by invited speaker Dr. Anne-Françoise Adam-Blondon, in front of an almost full auditorium at the ITQB, which presented the extensive work of ELIXIR's Plant Sciences Community to enable plant phenotyping-genotyping data management.

Next 12th November, Anne-Françoise Adam-Blondon will be the Key Note Speaker at Plant Phenotyping-Genotyping Data Management Workshop.

A paper about BrAPI - the Breeding API - has been recently published in the Oxford Academics' Bioinformatics journal. We asked Bruno Costa, a Biodata.pt member that is co-author of this joint effort, a few questions about how he joined this project and what exactly is BrAPI.
