The ELIXIR Plant Sciences Community recently published in the New Phytologist journal an article detailing the MIAPPE (Minimum Information About a Plant Phenotyping Experiment) 1.1 update.

The second workshop of the ELIXIR-funded Staff Exchange Project entitled “Empowering ELIXIR Nodes to measure and communicate their performance and impact” took place on March the 12th and was held in a conference call due to the current pandemics.

Due to the increasing demand from research infrastructures towards data management and analysis, BioData.pt has hired two new collaborators to help face this challenge. João Raimundo, Bioinformatics Specialist, and Rafael Santos, Project Manager, will integrate our internationally recognized team of experts from the beginning of April.

Because we know that starting to use a new resource is not always as straightforward as we would like, we are making available a series of tutorials to help our users easily navigate the CorkOakDB portal (http://corkoakdb.org/).

To familiarize our users with BioData.pt, its Plant Community and the CorkOakDB portal (http://corkoakdb.org/), we conducted a series of interviews to some of our key players.

The CorkOakDB (http://corkoakdb.org/) emerges as a joint effort to create a global repository of genomic data for cork oak. This species has a significant relevance in the Mediterranean at both economic and ecological level due to the sustainable production of cork.

On February 19th, at the student-organized Bioinformatics Open Days 2020, hosted by the University of Minho, BioData.pt held the workshop "Single-cell RNA-Seq analysis using a Seurat based graphical interface".

A student-led initiative hosted by the University of Minho, Bioinformatics Open Days 2020 was a meeting ground for experts in Bioinformatics to come together and meet with students and other experts. BioData.pt participated extensively in the event, sharing its knowledge and expertise between students and other bioinformaticians. BioData contributed extensively to this event, with our contributions detailed below.

BioData.pt is happy to announce that recent content from the GTPB programme, one of the node services is openly shared. Complete materials from 22 training courses, are available for reuse in two forms.
