Hosted by BioData.pt's Plant Sciences Community on the afternoon of November 12th, 2019, the Plant Phenotyping-Genotyping Data Management Workshop started with a keynote address by invited speaker Dr. Anne-Françoise Adam-Blondon, in front of an almost full auditorium at the ITQB, which presented the extensive work of ELIXIR's Plant Sciences Community to enable plant phenotyping-genotyping data management.

Next 12th November, Anne-Françoise Adam-Blondon will be the Key Note Speaker at Plant Phenotyping-Genotyping Data Management Workshop.

Pedro Henrique Magalhães Fernandes Pais defended his PhD thesis in Biotechnology and Biosciences at Instituto Superior Técnico on the 27th september 2019.

The YEASTRACT+ information system (http://YEASTRACT-PLUS.org/) is a wide-scope computational tool for the analysis and prediction of transcription regulatory associations at the gene and genomic levels in 10 yeast species of biotechnological or human health relevance.

For the first time in Portugal BioData.pt gathered for the event “Ready for Data Management - Creating value from Data Management” five of the top heads of Bioinformatics in Portugal: Arlindo Oliveira (IST), Cláudio Sunkel (replaced at the last minute by Jorge Vieira, both from IBMC), Élio Sucena (IGC), Pedro Cruz (IBET), Rogério Gaspar (FFUL), Mário Gaspar Silva (INESC ID /Elixir Portugal), José Pereira Leal (BioData/Ophiomics).

On 2nd July BioData.pt organized a hands-on session focused on demistifying the concept of Data Management Plan (DMP). The session took place at the recently renovated training room of Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (IGC).
